Elise Alpert Joins Our Firm Bringing Her Expertise in Dangerous Drugs, Defective Medical Devices, and Medical Malpractice
Elise is our “nurse-attorney” concentrating in mass torts, medical device and drug product liability, and medical malpractice.
She started her career as registered nurse at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Coney Island Hospital, and Bellevue Medical Center. She then went into the medical-legal field when she formed her own medical expert referral service serving New York lawyers as well as lawyers around the country. She located medical experts for attorneys as well as reviewed medical records to determine the merits of a medical malpractice case. During the midst of a busy career, Elise went to law school and became a lawyer.
Elise has interviewed thousands of clients who are victims of dangerous drugs and medical products, such as breast implants, trans-vaginal mesh, Baycol, Phen-Fen, Vioxx, Stryker and DePuy artificial hips. She constantly investigates drugs and devices which pose a risk to consumers. She is presently researching testosterone as causing heart attack and stroke.
Elise is active in professional groups. She is the secretary of the New York chapter of TAANA, The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, and she on the Board of Governors for the Women Trial Lawyers Caucus of the American Association of Justice.
Elise Alpert is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Washington, DC. Her admission to New York is pending. She is a graduate of New York Law School (J.D), University of Pennsylvania (B.S.N. [nursing]), and New York University (M.P.A. [health care]).
